Hey, IgnitePhoenix folks! Here!
March 30, 2010 by Brad ·
Ignite is such a cool format! Thanks for checking out the site. It’s ripe for a major overhaul, and I’m talking to a few design teams. That’s code for it hasn’t been updated in a while! (Web stuff is not as similar as image editing and delivery as one might suspect.)
So, since you’re here, have a look at a more recent gallery of samples.
There are more to choose from here.
·Joe gives Jim a fitting eulogy
March 25, 2010 by Brad ·
You know that iconic image of Johnny Cash flipping off the camera on stage? That was Jim Marshall‘s work. Marshall was loosely the photographic parallel of the rock writer Lester Bangs. He passed away yesterday. The indispensable Joe McNally gives Jim a fitting eulogy [warning: NSFW language in a quote there] and in doing so, gives us perspective on where we are now. The comments there feature some ideas for the future. In all, it’s a great example of what blogging is all about.
·Focus Grand Prix (UPDATE 5: Thursday)
March 22, 2010 by Brad ·
Thanks for checking in to see the images from the inaugural Focus Grand Prix. I wound up with as many photos as I come home from most weddings with, so having them all ready just two days later is a tall order. But I’ve added the first several dozen to a new gallery. You can see them at this link. While you’re there, navigate to the galleries’ home page by clicking on the “RB Jones Photography” link in the upper left hand corner. (Here’s that link.) There will be more over the next few days. I’ll mark this post as “updated” when more are posted.
The images in the Focus gallery may be downloaded free. It’s my way of supporting the cycling community. Just roll your mouse over the image on a photo’s dedicated page and a few options will emerge from its left edge.
You can also order pro lab quality prints by clicking on the Add to Cart button. The prints (and other products featuring the images) are not marked up anywhere near as high as most photographers’, so I would encourage you to consider checking them out. For quality and the convenience of delivery to your door, I think you’ll be pleased.
UPDATE 1 : I’m beginning to upload more photos, and I’m categorizing them into different galleries. This link takes you to the growing group of galleries. More will appear tomorrow. Thanks for coming by. And as long as you’re hear, why not take a look at my wedding photography samples.
UPDATE 2 : You may have seen that I’ve already made different galleries for te event. I’ve added more images too. But tonight I’m adding lots more. Well, I say “tonight” but I am being hindered by the sketchy service of Cox’s High Speed Internet service. I’m also adding a few new categories.
UPDATE 3 : It’s almost ALL up. Sizable teams I recognize have galleries with images featuring their riders. (Whoops, just realized I haven’t built one for Bicycle Ranch yet. Check back soon, BR guys.) There’s a gallery of all the edited images from the day’s race, and another shorter, though not exactly brief, gallery that tells some of the overall story of the day. If you don’t see yourself in a team gallery, look through the big one.
UPDATE 4 : Team-specific galleries created for Bicycle Ranch, Arizona Masters Racing, and Tribe. Note that the team-specific galleries are not an exact science. Sometimes whether or not an image actually features or includes a certain team member is arguable, and sometimes I’ll have simply missed something in the key-wording and uploading processes. (It’s a labor of loveāthis coverage of an event for free. I can’t devote as many resources to its accuracy as I do for a full wedding.) SO… there’s always a chance that you’ll find yourself or someone else you’re looking for only in the “everything in one place” gallery.
UPDATE 5 : Everything’s up. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

The link to the whole group of galleries is: http://RBJonesPhotography.zenfolio.com/focusgrandprix2010
Feel free to share it.
Big THANKS to Shawn S., Paco K., the folks at BicycleRadio.com and everyone else who is spreading the word about the galleries. Please keep sharing! And perhaps you can bookmark my site for future reference. You never know just how soon you may need a signature-style wedding or lifestyle photographer.
As always, I highly recommend using the slideshow feature when viewing the galleries. It’s hands-free and the images are larger.

I got the cover of Tailwinds
March 21, 2010 by Brad ·
My work following Zeke & Bryce paid off! Well, just getting to know two such great guys was reward in itself, but professionally it is very rewarding to have my image of them land on the cover of a publication. You can see the rest of the tale of their 109 mile Tour de Tucson ride on unicycles here.
My thanks to Mark, the rest of the crew at Tailwinds, and the fine folks at Perimeter Bicycling for the honor.
